ShelterBox is the premier international aid organization that provides shelter and life-saving equipment. They instantly respond to earthquake, volcano, flood, hurricane, cyclone, tsunami or conflict and have helped over 140 disasters in more than 70 countries.  Each box supplies an extended family of up to 10 people with a tent and lifesaving equipment to use while they are displaced or homeless.

The contents are tailored depending on the nature and location of the disaster, with great care taken sourcing every item to ensure it is robust enough to be of lasting value.  The value of a box is $1,000 including delivery direct to those who need it. Each box bears its own unique number so as a donor you can track your box all the way to its recipient country via the website. Highly trained ShelterBox Response Teams distribute boxes on the ground, working closely with local organizations, international aid agencies and Rotary clubs worldwide.  Since its inception in 2000, ShelterBox has firmly established itself at the forefront of international disaster relief, providing emergency shelter for the people who need it most

Buying vs Renting

 | Comments Off

Are you still paying rent? According to Trulia, Over 72% of  the largest U.S. cities have starter homes, condos and apartments  that are becoming more affordable as “owned” rather than “leased.” My suggestion is to find a good lender and see what you qualify for and then compare that with local rents in the areas you like to see if renting is cheaper or not! Go to www.zilpy.com for the cool tool tab to find estimated rents to compare. If you don’t have a lender, contact Dave Trillo at www.PlatinumMortgageNetwork.com and tell him I referred you. They run a top notch lending group.

Team Shanahan donated a GIANT Pumpkin for the annual “Trunk or Treat” Halloween event at Folsom Lakeside Church http://lakesidechurch.com/. Thousands of adorable trick or treaters had a blast patting and sitting on the enormous 853lb pumpkin grown by Jeff Larkin of Granite Bay, CA. The pumpkin took 5th place honors at the Auburn Community Festival this year!

Thanks goes to Lakeside Church and Mr. Larkin for making this a special day for the kids…and the pumpkin too!
